Karate for Kids Our Karate for Kids program is designed for children ages 7-11. In addition to mastering the technical skills of taekwondo, students are learning crucial Life Skills that will help them succeed in all areas in their lives. Life Skills such as Respect, Self-Discipline, Esteem, and Goal-Setting are essential aspects in the development of Character. Karate for Kids also learn "Schoolyard Safety" — how to avoid bullies, how to prevent fights, and how to walk away from confrontations. Karate for Kids are rewarded for outstanding performance in taekwondo class, school, or home by our Victory Star Patch System. Parents fill out Star Notes, provided at the front counter, to acknowledge any great deed or behavior done by their child, and the instructor reinforces the child’s positive behavior by reading the Star Note aloud in class. Our Karate Kids emphatically repeat their Student Creed at the beginning and end of every class: "Sir/Ma'am, Each day I live, by honoring my parents and instructors, practicing to the best of my abilities, and having courtesy and respect for everyone I meet, Sir/Ma’am!" |
